Operation Smile - See Jordan!

Interested in transforming children's lives and helping them to smile?  Interested in a fun service opportunity?  If so, come to the first meeting of Operation Smile, a service organization devoted to raising money for children with facial deformities such as cleft lips and cleft palates.  With the support of this organization, thousands of smiles can be healed through reconstructive surgery.  The first meeting will be in room 310 during Wednesday's Activity Period.  More information about the organization will be shared at this time, and officers will be elected for LHS's first Operation Smile.  If you're looking for a rewarding project, as well as an opportunity for community service, this club may be for you!

Each MM will receive a collection bag today, (some were already placed in rooms on Friday afternoon) for students to place donations in. A set of directions has been placed in the bag to help you review the goal of this event, to help raise money for Breast Cancer research. EVERY MM that raises $50 will receive pink cupcakes. Spirit Week Info

Spirit Week runs from Oct 11th through Oct 14th culminating with the fall pep rally from 1-2pm on Friday the 14th.  The pep rally will take place in the main gym this year.

The dress-up days are as follows:

  • Tuesday = Dress like your favorite sports team day
  • Wednesday = Hawaiian day
  • Thursday = Mix-match (aka mis-match) day
  • Friday is class color day!
The class with the most members dressed accordingly will be awarded spirit points.

This year the hallways/doors will be decorated on Tuesday Oct. 12th. We will run an activity period schedule and have an extended morning meeting. This year’s theme is LEDYARD/COLONEL PRIDE! Each class is being given the same materials (all blue and white items) and the class with the most creative use of said materials will be awarded the spirit points for that activity. For each activity there are points for second, third and fourth place as well. The materials are being divided by the class officers and will be sent to morning meetings by Tuesday via the class advisors/officers.
